#32: Today I Write Something

Always Gold

You and I,
We were so similar yet so different
Young and reckless
Infinite and boundless
We share great chemistry, like two peas in a pod
We were so stuck with each other, nothing could tear us apart
We think of travelling across the world
Never be apart
You would kill for me
And I would do the same
One day, it hurts me so sharp
When I hear that you were going away
Everything goes away, when you’re going away

I was there, when you were packing
There, you left without a word
Everything goes away, when you’re going away
All of a sudden, my world just becomes different when you’re away

Many years have passed in a blink of an eye
They told me that you were back
They told me that you’ve changed
I didn’t believe them
There you are
Standing at the front of my door
Back when we were kids
Just the way you would
You would wait for me, with two ice cream cones in hand
We would gaze at the stars all night
Counting them till both of us are deep in our sleep
Worries out of sight
Till the dawn cracks open with a ray of morning light
